Excellent ski conditions yesterday on Cathedral Peak! Above treeline N and E aspects remained cool and provided good skiing with limited wind effect and no crusts. South aspects warmed up to give great corn skiing on the descent. In the trees the snow was hard in the morning making for quick travel but icy at times, ski crampons would be useful. In the afternoon sun exposed areas were moist but remained supportive all the way down to the valley bottom. Some snow balls rolling down steep south aspects but other than that no new avalanche activity observed. Daytime heating and wind loaded areas up high were the things we were watching for specifically yesterday. Great spring ski conditions! Conrad Janzen Mountain Guide
