Skied to the last bench before the summit headwall on Mt. Field yesterday. Excellent skiing including
lower down through the Xmas tress where the alders are well covered. The
last headwall is very suspect and should be avoided. A lone ski tourer
accidentally triggered a size 2.5 on the summit slopes the day prior. He
was very fortunate to get away with it. The Feb. 26 surface hoar at the
interface of this slab release is very prominent and it is a nasty one. See
