[MCR] Early Season Avalanche Conditions

Subject: [MCR] Early Season Avalanche Conditions
Date: Thu, 5 Nov 2009 17:11:18 -0800
The Canadian Avalanche Centre is winding up for the season and information this time of year is sparse and difficult to get. If you've been out for a ski, climb, walk, drive or heard of stories from people who have, we'd love to hear about it. You can send information to: forecaster@xxxxxxxxxxxx or call the forecasting office at 250-837-2141 ext. 230

We welcome any information no matter what your level of training or experience. Informal reports and stories are often just as helpful as technical data.

The MCR summary later this evening will provide more detail and we'll be issuing an early season report for a number of regions tomorrow with a bit of a weather outlook for the weekend as well. Check out our bulletins at http://www.avalanche.ca/CAC_Bulletin_Regions

There's been a number of close calls (skiing. boarding, and ice-climbing) already this fall so keep your head up out there.
