Went up the glacier up on the ridge
behind Mount Lookout.
Good skiing in sheltered areas above
2400m, below a mix of supportive, melting and breakable crusts. Some isolated
pockets of hard shallow windslabs, which were easy to skier-trigger on the
approach to Lookout notch.
We found the surface hoar down
80-90cm on the glacier in a sheltered area below Mt. Lookout
at about 2400m. About 2.5 - 3m of snow on the glacier in this elevation.
Still a great day to be out, though
a few cm of fresh wouldn't hurt.
