A new descent has been established on the South Howser Tower which avoids rappelling directly under the cornice early season and follows a significantly cleaner line than the old route. The route was completed last summer but the topo needed to get tested before it was sent out. This is the latest version and incorporates much of the feedback from last summer. It is important to note that the descent is set up to be done with one 60m rope and is best descended this way due to the off fall line nature of following the steep ridge. A couple of the 30m raps are real rope stretchers and may require a move or two of downclimbing if your rope is a “short” 60m. Marc Piché ACMG, IFMGA Mountain Guide
