I was in the Musical Bumps today. Conditions where much like you normally expect to find near the end of May/first week of June. Check out the picture of Flute. On north aspects there appeared to be a solid pack down to at least the1400m. No substantial suncuping anywhere above 1800m. Most of the larger cornices have fallen and looked flat. The mid day heat made snowshoes preferable over just boots for slogging through up to 20cm loose wet snow. N aspects where a little more solid. Skis would have been great. Don't go looking for alpine flowers around here yet! Dave Sarkany |
