Fine day in the alpine today. Good freeze everywhere with a clear starry night.
Not that much melting going on with some breezes and coolish air keeping it
pleasant. No significant natural avalanches observed on north, east or west
facing slopes and I didn't get to see any snowy south faces up close.
Hungabee and Biddle still look stupidly white. Glacier, Huber, Lefroy and
Cathedral are perfect if your timing is good. Victoria would put up a bit of a
fight with knife edges and cornices. The terrain above the Abbot hut at the
start of the SE ridge of Victoria could win the vote for the worst "voie
normale" to be on during the midday heat this week.
