[MCR] Mudslide, North Over Ridge Area, Kananaskis

All the rain and snowy winter seems be taking its toll on the peaks in the Kananaskis area.  Staff working in the Three Isle Lakes area/Northover ridge area noticed a large mudslide that has occurred in the past few days.  Just looking at the picture (http://ow.ly/5RBtM)  it looks like close to  5m of ground for close to 60m across slid down an east aspect of an outlier of Mt Northover.  The slide reached the valley floor and covered the common approach to this route.

Cornices along the ridge are still quite large and hikers should still expect to encounter snow in some areas along the ridge.  Hidden lake is still rather full also and the lakeshore isn’t an option just yet and you must do a little thrashing through the trees on a narrow trail to the far side of the lake.
