Another heads up to those of you climbing around Jasper.
Peter Amann recently posted that some fixed pitons have gone missing on
the SW face of Morro pk. In addition to that, there are several bolt
hangers that have been swiped at the Morro slabs practice cliffs. Some
of these hangers had a coating of epoxy on them which had to be chipped
away. If you notice any bolt hangers etc... missing in the Jasper area,
or if you have seen any suspicious activity out there, it would be
appreciated if you could pass the info along to the local climbing shop
Gravity Gear. This way we can continue to pass along the info to
everyone else.
It may be worth carrying a spare bolt hanger or two with nuts and
washers if you plan to go up any of the more established multi pitch or
sport routes until the hangers and pitons can all be replaced.
Thanks in advance for your help.
