Greetings,

I visited these areas from December 4-7.

Junk Yards; Lower main flows are all in good shape but of note is that the upper waterfall has climbable lines and the upper right flow is well formed. Excellent alternatives when the lower flows are busy.

Hafner Creek; Most ice flows have now dried out. Mixed routes are mainly in excellent condition.  Anchors were added atop the two smaller practice flows at the back of the canyon left side. This will eliminate the major safety issue that consistently occurred due to the narrow bulbous nature of the top out which always dinner plates. This dinner plating at the top out was  weakening the v-threads. Previously one v-thread was witnessed to be covered by a giant dinner plate which after being nudged away completely exposed the entire v-thread.

Grotto Canyon; Main flow is in easier shape than usual and now dry. His and Hers are both climbable but in narrower conditions making their associated mixed routes much harder than usual. Some hangers are loose, bring a wrench.

Happy Trails,
