One shot yesterday on a lower target on Bourgeau 5 that had not avalanched
yet this
year produced a size 3 avalanche that dusted the road. Failure to ground.
Max slab depth est. 1.5 metres. Elsewhere, reloaded bed surfaces produced
avalanches up to size two again to ground. The basal depth hoar and Oct
crust is still a major concern in the Rockies.(See attached file: B5 Slab
