I guided Louise Falls today, Jan 22nd. A surprisingly quiet day with only one
other party showing up at the crack of noon for the afternoon shift.
It was calm and -8c at the base at 0800. The line we took, up the middle more
or less, is dry and in good shape. It seems as though the ice on this route has
recovered from the latest cold snap and we did not hear or feel any odd sounds
or deep fractures while climbing.
The freshly carved ice sculptures behind the chateau are also in good shape and
the crowds were out today to enjoy the festivities.
I have pics of the climb posted at

Play safe,
