Hello,
We skied/climbed Mount Hector on the Icefields Parkway today, April9th.
Of note: probing found snow depths of only 45cm in some locations on the
climbers left hand side of the glacier between 3060m and 3200m. This is a
shoulder feature that is exposed to westerly winds (wind stripping of snow
being the likely cause of the low snow depths)
Factor this information into your route finding and/or your decision to rope
up or not.
A great day in the mountains!
