Hello everyone,
The following is for the upcoming closure at Hermitt/Tupper this week due explosive ordinance control work. There will be NO activity whatsoever over the indicated time frame while this work is being conducted.
Pursuant to Section 7 of the Canada National Parks Act General Regulations:
The Hermit Trail, Hermit Campground and all climbing routes on Mt Tupper will be closed to all activities Tuesday September 4th and Wednesday September 5th. The closed area has the same boundaries as the Hermit and Tupper Winter Restricted Areas.
Explanation:
Blasting operations are scheduled to take place on Mount Tupper in Glacier National Park on Wednesday September 5th, 2012. The purpose of these operations is to safely remove, by detonation, unexploded military ordinance that was fired as part of Parks Canada’s Avalanche Control Program.
