[MCR] Hermitt/Tupper Closure Sept 4th & 5th

Hello everyone,

The following is for the upcoming closure at Hermitt/Tupper this week due explosive ordinance control work.  There will be NO activity whatsoever over the indicated time frame while this work is being conducted.

 

 

Pursuant to Section 7 of the Canada National Parks Act General Regulations:

The Hermit Trail, Hermit Campground and all climbing routes on Mt Tupper will be closed to all activities Tuesday September 4^th and Wednesday September 5^th. The closed area has the same boundaries as the Hermit and Tupper Winter Restricted Areas.

Explanation:

Blasting operations are scheduled to take place on Mount Tupper in Glacier National Park on Wednesday September 5^th, 2012.  The purpose of these operations is to safely remove, by detonation, unexploded military ordinance that was fired as part of Parks Canada’s Avalanche Control Program.
