We climbed Willingdon by its west ridge yesterday (Sept 7). The peak seems to be gaining popularity with 6 ascents recorded in the summit register this year.
On approach the east side of Quartzite Col still has some winter snow patches but they are easily bypassed. All stream crossings were easy hop-overs. There is no snow on the climb itself but the traverse to Crown and Willingdon 3 still carries some snow.
An outstanding trip with exceptional scenery, a wilderness setting and perfect autumn weather.
