Climbed A2 ice face. Good conditions, not much rock imbedded on ice, quite clean. Sun hits the top at about 10am. Free of snow from top and easy to traverse off. Went over col to Athabasca N glacier, just a bit of snow on glacier under Boundary peak, the rest was ice.
Aug 9
Climbed Sliver horn. Excellent conditions! Styrofoam....Cold temps and hard freeze. Good buckets and axe holes on ascent. A few spots were getting icy, lower bulge for 40ft, midway for 20ft. The rest is still good.
Nice Clouds!
Down the AA col. Still a strip of snow going straight down from normal ascent gully. Frozen hard on descent (0830am) Followed straight down till it petered out then hard left on a faint trail to more snow.
(People should be good on their feet!)
colder the last few days, last weekends mush is now a good melt freeze layer.
