Hi Everyone
I skied in the Nirvana
Pass area April 21-28th.
Unsettled weather forced us away from the Dais Glacier and the Waddington group
on the 21st. Whitesaddle air service has not been able to fly anyone
into Waddington yet this spring. The Pantheons are a great choice if you can’t
get into Waddington as they are to the East and lower and dryer. We had lots of
bad weather skiing on great corn for the most part with a few of days in the
Alpine. There was still dry snow on high (above 2500M) North facing slopes. The
Alpine received 20-30 cm’s over the week with lots of wind for transport.
I had one sc size 1 ssl on the 25th .The recent hst is slow to bond
to hard spring crusts on most aspects. I didn’t get into the Alpine after
the 26th but suspect more touchy wind slabs. There is lots of evidence
of wind scouring on the glaciers leaving the coverage a bit thin in places.
