Last 3 days at the icefields, quiet place!
No freeze on the 9th and 10th.
Up Athabasca today via AA col. -1 in parking lot and excellent
travel. Slope up in good shape, frozen hard. Some patches of deeper
snow here and there otherwise good cramponing.
Snow over the past week has piled up above 9500ft, Approx 10-40cm
wind distributed. A few small slabs popped off below trail up
Silverhorn which was interesting. Quite a dense stiff layer on the
surface. Larger terrain features should be watched, especially if it
warms up. Summit ridge is pretty plastered and more new snow stuck
on the steeper stuff on Andromeda than there was a week a go.
