Lots of new snow up high in the spires from the last three storms. Most of the rock climbing on the sunny aspects within the Crescent area (McTech, Donkey Ears) is dry enough to climb but anything above 2700m and especially anything not due south facing is covered in up to 15cm of new snow and verglass. The West Face of Snowpatch is cold and wet, several parties backed off of the NE Ridge of Bugaboo spire yesterday and the West Ridge of Pigeon is in full winter condition (See Photo). On the bright side, the Bugaboo-Snowpatch col is in better shape now with step kicking to the top again but crampons are still recommended. If the sun manages to stay out for a few days the West Face of Snowpatch might dry up but be aware of the shady corners as they will be icy for a while. Marc Piché ACMG Mountain Guide
