Spent the last 5 days at the Hind Hut. To add
to Barry's post the North Ridge has dried out a "little" bit.
On Tuesday it still required crampons from below
the Red band to the summit but the snow patches were melting
quickly. We rappelled all the way down the upper ridge until we were
underneath the Red band again (15+ raps).
Cornices/snow mushrooms were falling down the
East face all day and the summit cornice is quite large right now, requiring a
lot of respect.
The snow just to the right of the glacier was
offering good travel to the base of the ridge, letting you avoid the scree
trail.
We were 13 hours - 6 up and 7 down - start
early!!
Two grizzlies in the Magog campground on
Thursday.
Have a great weekend!
