Climbed Edith Cavel East Ridge today. It is in great shape,
we didn’t have to put on crampons at all. We walked around the snow on the
approach, another party crossed the snow and did use the crampons. A few snowy sections warranted cutting steps
with the ice axe, but it was never more than a dozen steps before jumping back
on the rock. Anchors along the way are
tattered and worn so back them up.
Conditions could change with the next thunderstorm so be
prepared for anything.
