a quick trip up to the home slopes above keith's hut rewarded us with very good ski quality in boot top powder with good coverage at TL and above. no repeatable shears in hand pits to 70 cms, HS is still widely variable with early season conditions, but i probed 150-170 on skiable slopes at this elevation. surface hoar to 10mm at TL widespread. -6 at 1300 at the toe of the moraine, almost clear skies with clouds over mt. rohr all day.
the only avalanche observed was a sz 1.5 out of the skiers right toe of anniversary gl. looked to have run near the end of the storm early in the week.
the winter route is reasonable now, with only a few interesting obstacles, but much more circuitous than usual.
