Light to moderate rain the past 24 hrs and snow to around 2700m. Still fair snow travel on open slopes with over 1m depth of snow but in the talus and forest the snow is terrible. Best travel is on the old avalanche debris. Climbed a few of the Wiwaxy peaks today and the rock is dry and the snow actually was an improvmert over the mid summer scree. Some cornices falling off and hanging snow slopes sliding in the rain or bits of sun. No signs of large avalanches in the past two days. Grassi ridge is dry but for any alpine climbs you would need either patience, a good freeze, skis or a life jacket to stay on top of the snow on the long approaches.
