On my mountain bike ride today I had a good look at Mt Louis. There is still quite a bit of snow on the ledges on the east face. The mountain spits rocks down on the first part of the Kain route when those ledges are wet or snowy. There is also snow on the lunch ledge below the Perren crack. Couldn't see lower on the Gmoser route but I suspect there is still wetness there and on the descent. Mark Klassen Mountain Guide |
