>From high up on Beautiful Century on Nanny Goat Buttress today (July 15) we observed a large black bear make its way up into the drainage that contains the ice climb Coire Dubh. The bear walked up-stream to a point approximately 150 to 200m from the start of the ice climb, had a nice long drink from a pool of water, and then traversed north into the trees.

Definitely a good idea to carry bear spray and not leave any food or other attractants at the base of the climbs in this area, including climbs on Kid Goat, Deception, etc.

Play safe!
