[MCR] Gimli Peak, Selkirk Mountains

Hi all,

Guided the south ridge of Gimli today.  The route is dry and in really good shape. The regular descent route down the east flank of Gimli Peak is drying nicely.  We were able to stay on rock almost all the way back down except for a few 30m snow patches. The snow was moist by mid afternoon and offered good steep kicking. An ice axe was useful. Snow is melting rapidly in the Valhalla's and the conditions are becoming more summer like, specially on southerly aspects.

Cheers,
