Up the Perren route today to the west ridge on Mt. Fay. Rock was dry including the traverse after the chain pitch. Travel on the glacier was excellent with the new snow from yesterday well settled. We ascended the right hand of the two snow slopes to the ridge on Fay. The bergshrund is well bridged and excellent travel on snow to the ridge. The bergschrund on the left hand slope is gaping and looks significantly more difficult. The ridge is snow covered with 5 to 10 cm. Marc Ledwidge UIAGM |
