Climbed the Grand Sentinel today with a friend. There are still a couple snow
patches to cross on the way to the route, boots and a light axe would help, but
they can be avoided without too much trouble. Of particular note was the
sporadic rockfall that we heard and saw coming out of the gullies threatening
the approach from midday onwards. Definitely something to watch out for with
lingering snow in the gullies, combined with this hot weather.
Several folks on the scramble route on Mt.Temple, which looked mostly dry, with
some lingering snow near the top, again boots and a light axe would be useful
for this route also. Still a tight group of 4 is in effect for the hike in, but
with all the folks out enjoying this fine weather, it was easy to join up with
others on the way in and out.
