I guided Mt Assiniboine by the north ridge Saturday Sept 10. Despite mild
temperatures there was a good overnight freeze. There is a fair bit of snow and
ice on the upper mountain and we had to put crampons on 100m below the Red
Band. We didn't see any recent avalanche activity and very little rockfall. The
snow on the upper mountain is firm and well frozen in the morning and was
relatively good travel.
