Early season in the Howsons: 120 cm HS at the lodge, 220 at treeline.
Great weather and good skiing on cold low density snow. A test pit a
treeline showed no significant shears, but we did not dig to ground. I
expect some basal facets, but they may be not very thick. We saw no
recent avalanche activity and ski cutting of steep pockets had no
results besides surface sluffing.
