Subject: [MCR] Coast Range, Cayoosh Mt.

Location/Route/Date: Coast range, Duffey Lake area, Cayoosh Mt. Feb. 1, 2013, Armchair Glacier and North Cayoosh Glacier.

Conditions: At 2000 metres, average 2.5 to 3 metre snowpack depth with even distribution.  Fairly extensive wind effect in the alpine affecting ski quality.  Southerly aspects likely to now have a breakable crust due to solar radiation and high temp of 0 degrees.

Areas of concern: Approach to north glacier route susceptible to steep sun exposed slopes.  Skier’s right side of armchair glacier exposed to cornices above on ridge. 

Additional information:  Variable ski quality and highly travelled.   Limited amount of recent new snow.
