Up Mt. Field today. There have been numerous ascents recently with many
descent tracks in the steepest terrain. We observed a size 2+ cornice fall
off the east face off Wapta peak at around 9:30 AM due to sun effect. There
are still many sheltered lines on the N. facing sides of the gullies on the
upper 2/3 of the route. The lower 1/3 was crust in the AM and mushy by 1:00
PM on our descent. Overall, the danger was low.
