[MCR] Columbia Icefields alpine conditions

Subject: [MCR] Columbia Icefields alpine conditions

Passed on from Steve House, IFMGA:

On 2/30/13 two parties climbed the Slawinski-Takeda and the Isaac-Huisman routes on the north buttress of Mt. Athabasca. Travel conditions were found to be very good with minimal snow and what snow there is being quite compact. Conditions for the approach and descent are very close to ideal. Other alpine routes in the area look to be in fine condition with a blend of gray ice and snow cover visible on Athabasca's north face as well as on the routes on the northern aspects of Mt. Andromeda.
