Up in the Little Yoho region since June 29 and back today with a Yamnuska
group. The trails to Stanley Mitchell and out the Ice line are all in good shape
and unaffected by the recent big downpour. We climbed both McArthur and the Vice
President & found generally good snow cover on the glacier and minimal boot
penetration. Many crevasses are still covered enough to be hard (invisible) to
see and had an un-nerving tendency to collapse as you approached them so a very
tight rope seemed a good idea. The lack of any recent freeze made it a good idea
for early starts and to climb in the shade as much as possible.
