Hi all,

The Bannock creek forest service road to the Gimli Peak trail head is in rough shape at this time and should only be attempted with a 4X4 vehicle. High clearence vehicle would be ideal but a regular SUV should be OK too. There is a couple of really steep rutted out sections along with a few big boulder on the road making it quite narrow in spots.

Attached are a couple photos from the last few days showing current snow levels. Most ridge climbs look dry and climable but many faces are still seeping water. There is still heaps of snow melting and seeping on northerly aspects. The steep part of the descent off of Gimli still has a few snow patches on it. The trail is in good shape but the upper quater is still under snow, the campground is partially snow covered with some dry camping spot.

Enjoy this great weather!

Cheers,

David Lussier
