Climbed Truda and the Swiss Peaks with Danyelle Magnan on July 16th.
We accessed Truda Peak via the Swiss Glacier and the Truda Couloir before traversing the Swiss Peaks to the Rogers Col. Snow travel was good all day with firm snow up the Truda Couloir the morning and good step kicking down from Rogers Col in the afternoon. Crampons were needed and several small ice patches are beginning to show up along the way. The bergschrund below the Truda Couloir is still snow covered and easy to cross. The bergschrunds are beginning to open up below the Rogers Col but were crossed without difficulty on the skiers L side of the face.
A few bare ice patches showing near the toe of the Swiss Glacier.
There was still 10cm of recent snow on shaded aspects above 2900m which made for some slippery rock but this was melting rapidly and the sunny aspects dried out quickly. Good conditions overall.
