Fellow guides Grant Meekins, Nic Sharpe, Fred Amyot, James Madden and I spent
the weekend at the Abbot Hut with Yamnuska Mountain Adventures' Louise Classics.
We climbed the peaks on Sunday and Monday mornings. There was no refreeze both
nights.
The snow on Lefroy is barely holding in. Soft and sometimes failing bucket
steps took us up to two final icy pitches. The rock ridge to the summit is dry.
Victoria is in great shape with minimal cornice. The Sickle is shedding its
snow and crampons were helpful. It is possible to stay on rock for much of the
final ridge.
