[MCR] Kicking Horse Canyon, Avalanche Control, Jan. 3-5, 2014

Hello

I have been contacted by an HMC Highways Professional about potential planned Avalanche Control in the Kicking Horse Canyon some time between Jan 3-5 2014, by the BC Ministry of Highways. 

Ice climbers should stay away from the areas of Lady Killer, Pretty Nuts and Essondale climbs this weekend and other times of substantial snowfalls.    Please make an effort to check MCR or Gravsports for updated information.

There is yet to be an awareness program of planned avalanche control events in this area.   This eventually will cause an even greater strain to the access issues here.
