[MCR] Kicking Horse Canyon climbs - Golden

Temperatures near Golden today were quite mild compared to the Bow Valley. It
was -24 at the parking area for the Kicking Horse River climbs today at 10:30am
and warmed to -16 in the afternoon.
There was a moderate frigid wind from the east while approaching the climbs,
which fortunately disappeared once you were on the routes.

Essondale and Riverview stay in the sun until about 3pm but the bottom of
Pretty Nuts gets shade starting at noon. The ice is bulletproof. Not really
brittle, just as hard as waterfall ice can get. It takes full body weight to
place a screw. Hopefully it will soften with the forecasted slightly warmer
temperatures and more sun.
