I skied Mt Hector today, April 14. Good travel conditions and some good skiing. The lower headwall at treeline was good boot packing on firm snow. There was variable snow depth with some ice showing on the glacier. Ski crampons were useful for the steeper rolls on the glacier. Boot crampons are required to reach the summit. No evidence of new avalanches in the last 48 hours. Larry Dolecki |
