Date: | Wed, 30 Apr 2014 15:03:51 -0600 |
Just passing this message along from the
Banff Fire Management team. This closure includes all the climbing on Mt.
Cory as well as the Mt Edith and Mt Louis approaches. I believe the
closure is in effect until May 30th:
Please note the following area closure effective today, April 30, 2014: Where: The area between Hillsdale Meadow at the east end of the Hillsdale split to the Fireside day-use area (including parking lot and Edith and Mt. Cory trails - Edith pass trail to its junction with Cory pass trail). Highway 1A, the Bow Valley Parkway, is still open for vehicular travel (see link for map). Why: To ensure public safety during prescribed fire operations. http://www.pc.gc.ca/apps/scond/Cond_E.asp?oID=16518&oPark=100092 Ian Jackson ACMG Mountain Guide Visitor Safety Technician | Technicien Sécurité de Visiteurs Banff, Yoho, Kootenay National Parks | Parcs Natiounaux Banff, Yoho, Kootenay Parks Canada | Parcs Canada www.parksmountainsafety.ca | www.parcsecuritemontagne.ca experience PROPER AWESOME / vivez l'expérience: PUREMENT GÉNIAL _______________________________________________ These observations and opinions are those of the person who submitted them.
