[MCR] Rogers Pass Conditions - 2014-07-10

The heat is making the snow disappear fairly quickly around Rogers Pass.
With no overnight freeze in over a week, snow faces (Youngs Peak) are
starting to show patches of ice and glacier tongues (Illecillewaet, Swiss)
are baring down to blue ice already. Snow gullies to expedite travel to
Mounts Tupper and Macdonald are melting fast with large sections of snow
completely gone. The prime snow-gully approaches are now done for the
season on these two peaks.

Mt Sir Donald is shaping up, but the West Face By-pass descent is still
holding a couple of major snowpatches. These will undoubtedly fire rocks
onto the lower slopes in the afternoon heat, and cannot be recommended
until the majority of the snow has melted off. Parties will likely want to
descend the way they came up. We have not had any reports of the rappel
stations down the lower West Face, but you should expect that the lower
stations will probably still be covered in snow.
