The snow line in the Lake Ohara region is down to 2400m. At Abbots Pass over
night there were consistent strong to extreme winds. 5-7cm of snow accumulation
at 2900m with drifts up to 40cm deep. Strong likelihood of wind slab
development on NW through NE aspects above 2600m.
A small amount of rockfall was observed on the way back down under the steep
cliffs towards the bottom of the Pass.
