For anyone wondering about walking down the glacier from Abbot Pass to Lake Louise - there is a large crevasse spanning the entire route that looks very difficult to get across. You cannot see this crevasse when looking down from Abbot Pass. See the attached photo. The Fuhrmann Ledges route is presently dry across the main ledge and is a better alternative for dry summer conditions. Grant Statham Parks Canada Visitor Safety ACMG Mountain Guide
