Have been in the backcountry around the
Callaghan Lodge (Whistler) for the past few days. Great skiing despite the warm
temps. Elevation 6200' - 4300' , temps -2.5 to +2.0 , winds calm
to strong in alpine , stm 75cm (and still snowing heavy) , hn each day 15-25cm ,
fp 70cm , SSE winds 30 -100kms. CTM(11) 25cm in hn, CTM(16) 55cm on old/new
interface @ 5430' n aspect.
Great ski conditions btl with heavy but
fast west coast snow. Tl has moderate slabs forming within hn, reactive to ski
cutting on lee slopes. Alp, limited obs due to no visibility and high hazards,
suspect heavy lee loading and slabs, ski pen 10cm.
P, F, F+ with high hazard BTL and exstreme
in ALP / TL.
