Yesterday went into Bowfalls with no one other than fred Beckey.
Temps at the road 9am -4, traces of new snow at the road. Below the route
12:00 -6. Observed moderate to strong winds at ridge tops, blowing snow.
Marco Delasale. reported good conditions on the route with hard crampon
friendly snow on the approach slope, some spindrift on route. cornices are
rather large and need to be considered.
Overall a nice winter feel !
Both Gullies, Pointless and Aimless are fat, a solo climber was on Pointless
during our approach, judge the avalanche hazards depending on conditions for
your selves when and if you chose to climb them this year.
Junkyards, there today about +8, not much sun and no strong rain. All in all
the day was not too bad on them. No rock fall observed, some more
significant potencial on the climbers right side.
Currently, the gully on the left has the least signs of sun affect. The
popular right side has a large suspended low angle slab with lots of water
on the right. The main steep section is highly featured and will be hurting
the most with lots of brittle ice when the cold returns.
Today it felt like i was in Pemberton again!
Cheers to all the coasties
