Hello
Guided the route yesterday (18th). Winter
conditions with gusty winds and lots of spindrift coming down. Route
itself felt quite hard for the crux pitches with a 4 to 6 inch thick
ice lense covering the upper pitches. Swings required extensive
cleaning and did not provide confidence.. gear was adequate if you climbed to
it...felt 5+.
The bridge 4 km from the Trans Altla/Highway
40 turn was "washed out" with the warm temps. Water was mid rim on
thetruck on the way out. The creek crossing at #39 was very easy with the
deepest spots being about 3 inches. No trail directly up the drainage
and frustrating post holing once you stepped off the path.
Temperatures constant around -5 all day.
Cheers
