I taught a crevasse rescue course on Kathlyn Glacier yesterday. The
trail has some snow patches left on it, some of which are steep and
hard. Above timberline, there is enough snow to make for comfortable
walking. The snow is firm, but not very hard. On the glacier, I found
from 250 to 300 cm of snow. It was hard to find suitable crevasses.
The flanks still have a lot of snow in them.
