Climbed Kerkeslin Falls on Saturday and Shades of Beauty on sunday.
Kerkeslin was a little bit thin but very climbable on plastic ice. The main
falls can be rappelled on a single 70m rope from the fixed anchors.
Shades of Beauty was fat and brittle on the first 2 pitches. Plastic fantastic
on the last pitch.
Easy walking on both approaches and no avalanche concerns at present. Biggest
hazard was probably the poor ice cover in the creeks.
Athabasca/ Columbia Icefields area looked seriously wind ravaged last night.
