Conditions on the President were pretty much perfect a couple of days ago when we were there.  The snow line starts around 2600m and by 3000m is was about 35cms deep.  There were hard slab that ranged from about 15-25cms thick on North aspects..something to think about on steeper terrain.  The crevasses were easy to get around and the bergschrund was passed on the far right without difficulty.  The upper ridge was awkward walking in the rocks with 5-10cms of new snow.  You can ascend the ridge without too much difficulty without crampons on but you need them to climb the last 100m to the summit.

Everything else in the area looked perfect.

Of note there is a large and somewhat aggressive pack rat that is currently residing inside the Stanley Mitchell hut.  It has free roam over the hut at night and was keeping everyone up by stealing socks, toques, flip flops etc and adding it to its nest which was left of the fireplace.  Consider all of the pots, pans, cutlery etc to be in a very "unhygienic" state.  We washed everything before we used it....take lots of hand sanitizer.

This weather is amazing and the alpine is as good as it gets for most places....have fun!!
